Spring Roll Dipping Sauces

These flavorful dipping sauces run the gamut from sweet to spicy. Choose your favorite or make all three. Sauces can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Ingredients

CLASSIC PEANUT DIPPING SAUCE

  • ¼ cup (60g) unsweetened creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ cup (60ml) water
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) Hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) sugar
  • 2 tablespoons (18g) peanuts, finely chopped

NUOC CHAM (VIETNAMESE STYLE)

  • ¼ cup (60ml) fish sauce
  • ⅓ cup (80ml) water
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) fresh lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons (10ml) rice wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) chili garlic sauce
  • ⅓ cup (67g) white sugar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 small Thai chili pepper, finely diced

HOISIN DIPPING SAUCE

  • ½ cup (120ml) Hoisin sauce
  • 4 teaspoons (20ml) fresh lime juice
  • 4 teaspoons (20ml) sugar
  • 2 - 3 teaspoons (10-15ml) water
  • 2 tablespoons (18g) peanuts, finely chopped

Method

CLASSIC PEANUT DIPPING SAUCE

Add all the ingredients except for the chopped peanuts to a bowl.  Mix together until smooth and creamy.  Place into a serving bowl and garnish with chopped peanuts.

NUOC CHAM (VIETNAMESE STYLE)

Place all the ingredients into a bowl and mix well until the sugar is dissolved and everything is fully blended.  Place into a serving bowl.

HOISIN DIPPING SAUCE

Combine the Hoisin, lime juice, and sugar in a bowl.  Mix well until the sugar has dissolved.  Add in the water 1 teaspoon (5ml) at a time until desired consistency.

Place into a serving bowl and garnish with chopped peanuts.
