Makes 8 servings

Ingredients

1 package of bacon
¾ cup (135 g) brown sugar
1-2 teaspoons (5-10 ml) red pepper flakes (2 if you like it really spicy)
1 teaspoon (5 ml) paprika
1 teaspoon (5 ml) chili powder
1 teaspoon (5 ml) cayenne
¼ teaspoon (1.25 ml) garlic powder
¼ teaspoon (1.25 ml) onion powder
¼ teaspoon (1.25 ml) salt
¼ teaspoon (1.25 ml) pepper

Method

In a medium bowl, pour all ingredients, except the bacon, together and mix well with a fork.

Take a package of bacon, cut the strips in half, and place them on a foil lined cookie sheet.

Spread the sugar mixture over all the pieces of bacon, making sure to cover every spot.

Bake at 375°F/190.5°C for 20 minutes. The bacon should be crispy, but not burnt. Bake in 2 minute intervals until done to desired crispness - take care because the sugar will start to burn very quickly if left in too long.

Let cool slightly and serve.
